Clay Harding from 38 Degrees has just released the menu for this Thursday’s Ultimate Flight Night. There will be 15 flights of 4 beers, with multiple departures leaving throughout the evening.
Exact flights will be listed soon, but expect to see them broken down by Style (Russian Imperial Stouts, Barrel aged beers, IPA’s, Wee Heavys & Sours), Region (Germany, Belgium, Southern California), and Brewery (Eagle Rock, Russian River, Stone Vertical).
Take a look at this ridiculous lineup! It looks like someone has been stashing kegs away for a little while… (More …)
Today’s the official day for Vertical Epic, so don’t forget to get out there and grab some bottles to cellar. This year’s beer is a Belgian Pale brewed with camomille that made it’s LA debut at Naja’s this past Thursday.
From the Stone Blog:
Fermented with the legendary Ardennes strain of Belgian yeast, 10.10.10 is a Belgian Strong Pale Ale brewed with pale malt and triticale (a cross of wheat and rye), hopped with German Perle hops, and steeped with chamomile during the whirlpool stage. In secondary fermentation, we added a juice blend of Muscat, Gewurztraminer, and Sauvignon Blanc grape varieties.
Lucky Devil’s was scheduled to do a 3pm tapping, but it looks like it’s been pushed back til Tuesday. Because today’s a Sunday, we might not see this one on the shelves until tomorrow.
Let us know in the comments where you find bottles or kegs of Vertical Epic 10.10.10 around LA!
Short notice, but if you can make it out to Nicole’s Gourmet Foods in South Pasadena, you do not want to miss this beer and cheese tasting, going on tomorrow, Monday June 8th at 5:00pm.
Cheese monger Alex Brown from Hot Knives will be leading the event. There are some awesome beers, including the new-to-LA Siamese Twin Double, brewed with Thai spices and coriander by Uncommon Brewers out of Santa Cruz.
Beers and their Cheeses:
- Hitochino Nest—Doigts De Chevre (surface ripened french goat cheese)
- La Merle Saison—Quadrello Di Bufala (washed rind italian water buffalo cheese)
- Glazen Toren Tripel–Cana De Oveja (bloomy rinded spanish sheep’s milk cheese)
- Blue Dot IPA—Azeitao (crazy raw portuguese sheeps milk cheese)
- Telegraph Wheat Reserve—St Maure De Tourainne (ash ripened french goat’s cheese)
- Uncommon Brewer’s Siamese Twin Double—Soureliette du Fedou (natural rinded basque sheep’s milk)
- Telegraph Stock Porter—Fiscalini Bandaged Cheddar (one fo the best cheddars in the world: from modesto!)
- Allagash Curieux—Roquefort L’Aigle Noir (the best cheese. ever.)
This costs you $35.00, but you get a $10.00 off coupon to buy beers at the store. $25.00 for 8 beers, 8 cheeses, and me?
A Cheap Trick, but a rad one: you will learn, you will be drunk.
Tell Friends, call the number to confirm.
